Wildcard – Your Own Bio-Related Problem
Eligibility & Team Rules
- Open to UG and PG students from any discipline. - Teams should consist of 2–4 members. - Each team should register from a single college/institution. - Every team member must provide accurate personal and academic details. - Each team must designate a Team Lead as the primary point of contact. - Each team can work on one problem statement. - The selected problem statement will remain associated with the team during the subsequent stages.
Hackathon Process
Stage 1 – Team Registration
Teams register by providing their team, institution and member details.
Stage 2 – Round 1: Idea Submission
Registered teams select:
Theme → Problem Statement
Teams then submit a one-page write-up describing their proposed solution.
Stage 3 – Screening & Shortlisting
The submitted ideas will be reviewed by the evaluation team. The top teams will be shortlisted for the next stage.
Stage 4 – Build Phase
Shortlisted teams will develop and refine their proposed solutions with mentorship and support.
Stage 5 – Pitch Deck Submission
Teams will submit a pitch deck covering their solution, development progress, market/business potential and go-to-market approach, as applicable.
Stage 6 – Jury Evaluation
Shortlisted teams will present their solutions to the jury.
Evaluation will consider:
-
Technical Feasibility
-
Business Viability
-
Impact & Sustainability
-
Clarity of Pitch
Stage 7 – Demo Day
Top teams will showcase their working solutions and present their ideas live.
Stage 8 – Awards
The top-performing teams will be recognised and awarded based on their overall performance.
Round 1 – Idea Submission
Round 1 is the initial idea-screening stage of BioBridge.
Each registered team must:
- Select one BioBridge Theme. - Select one Problem Statement under the chosen theme. - Prepare a one-page solution write-up. - Submit the one-pager through the designated submission platform.
Problem Statement Code
Teams must mention the exact problem statement code in their submission.
Example: BB-PB-01
The code should correspond to the problem statement selected by the team.
One-Page Submission Format
Each team must submit one one-page write-up using the template provided by the organisers.
File Format: PDF
Suggested Maximum File Size: 5 MB
Recommended File Name: TeamName_StatementCode.pdf
The one-page proposal should clearly communicate the team's understanding of the selected challenge and its proposed solution.
Open Bio Track – Wildcard
Teams that wish to address a bio-related challenge that is not covered by the listed problem statements may participate under the Open Bio Track – Wildcard.
Teams must submit their own bio-related problem title along with their proposal.
The proposed problem will be reviewed by the organising team and is subject to approval.
Important Guidelines
- Teams must provide accurate information during registration and submission. - Each team should select and submit only one problem statement. - Teams must use the correct Problem Statement Code in their Round 1 submission. - The one-page submission must follow the prescribed template. - Submissions should clearly demonstrate the relevance of the proposed solution to the selected problem. - Shortlisted teams will receive further instructions regarding the build phase, mentorship, pitch deck and final presentation. - Teams should ensure that all submitted information and documents are complete and accurate.
