About the Event:

Slay CTF is a thrilling, jeopardy-style Capture The Flag competition designed to test your offensive security skills, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Whether you are a beginner looking to break into the world of cybersecurity or a seasoned hacker hunting for complex challenges, Slay CTF offers a dynamic environment to exploit vulnerabilities, crack ciphers, and trace digital footprints.

Put your skills to the test, climb the global leaderboard, and prove your mettle in the ultimate battle of bits and bytes!

Eligibility & Registration Guidelines:

  • Target Audience: Open to all students (UG/PG/Diploma), early-career professionals, and self-taught security enthusiasts.
  • Inter-College Teams: Allowed and highly encouraged.
  • Inter-Specialization Teams: Allowed (Open to all branches and backgrounds).
  • Team Size: Participate individually or in teams of [1 - 4 members].
  • Prerequisites: Eagerness to learn.

Challenge Categories (Topics)

The CTF will feature a diverse set of challenges scaled from beginner to advanced difficulties across the following domains:

  • Web Exploitation: Uncover vulnerabilities in web applications (e.g., SQLi, XSS, IDOR, SSRF).
  • OSINT (Open-Source Intelligence): Track down hidden information and piece together digital trails across the public internet.
  • Cryptography: Break encryption schemes, decode ciphers, and analyze cryptographic protocols.
  • Digital Forensics: Analyze memory dumps, network packet captures (PCAPs), and hidden file metadata.
  • Reverse Engineering: Deconstruct compiled binaries and understand their underlying logic.
  • Miscellaneous / Sanity: Brain-teasers, scripting challenges, and out-of-the-box puzzles.

Event Format & Process

  • Format: Online, Jeopardy-Style CTF.
  • Platform: Challenges will be hosted on our dedicated infrastructure (CTFd).
  • Duration: The competition will run continuously for 3 hours.
  • Scoring System: Dynamic scoring will be implemented (the point value of a challenge decreases as more teams solve it).
  • Process: Once registered on Unstop, team leaders will receive the platform link and credentials via email 24 hours prior to the event kickoff.

Rules & Code of Conduct

  • No Flag Sharing: Sharing flags or solutions with other teams is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate disqualification of all involved parties.
  • No Brute-Forcing: Automated brute-forcing of the flag submission platform or challenge infrastructure is forbidden unless explicitly mentioned in the challenge description.
  • No Attacking the Infrastructure: Do not launch Denial of Service (DoS/DDoS) attacks or attempt to compromise the hosting servers.
  • Collaboration: You are free to use Google, AI tools, and public documentation, but collaboration is strictly limited to your own team members.
  • Final Decisions: The organizing team's decisions regarding scoring, disputes, and disqualifications are final and binding.
