Opportunity brief
What if your chess pieces woke up one day and decided the rulebook was merely a suggestion?
Welcome to Weird Chess 5.0, the place where knights have questionable life choices, baby elephants are discovering their superpowers, and pawns are suddenly punching way above their weight. The chessboard has a few surprises up its sleeve, and no, your textbook did NOT prepare you for this.
Rules:
- The prelims will be an Arena Style Tournament hosted in Lichess, with each (time-bound) round sporting a different chess variant, which will be informed to the registered candidates before the event.
- The event has 2 preliminary rounds and one final round. It is necessary to qualify in either of the 2 preliminaries to participate in the finals.
- You can participate in any one or both of the 2 prelims, and the best score out of the 2 (if both prelims are taken) will be considered.
- Finals will be conducted offline at IIT Madras, where a significant number of qualified participants will compete in exclusive, brand-new chess variants designed just for the finals.
- Only the winners will receive the hard copies of the certificates. Finalists and participants will receive soft copies of their certificates
