Opportunity brief
About the Event:
Microbial Alliance is a national-level crisis-response and leadership competition organized by iGEM IITD and held on the occasion of International Microorganism Day.
Teams will represent a microorganism and champion its cause against a real-world global crisis through scientific storytelling, persuasive campaigning, and public speaking.
How It Works:
- Each team has to choose a microorganism, for example Rhizobium, Penicillium, Lactobacillus, Cyanobacteria, or Streptomyces, and a global crisis, such as Climate Change, Food Security, Plastic Pollution, Antibiotic Resistance, or Water Scarcity.
- Teams will submit a 3–4 minute video explaining their microorganism's role and how it can help address the assigned global crisis.
- The top 10–15 teams will be shortlisted for a live "election" round.
- Shortlisted teams will deliver a Final Leadership Address along with an official campaign slogan.
- Open public voting will follow, with the top 3 teams declared winners.
Eligibility:
- Open to students across all colleges and specializations.
- Eligible participants include Class 11, Class 12, and undergraduate students up to their 2nd year.
- Team size: 2–3 members.
Prizes:
- Cash prizes, e-certificates, and special recognition will be awarded to the top 3 teams.
