Opportunity brief

Overview

Before the logo, before the tagline, before the ad campaign, there was a name. And that name was never an accident.

Same Fries. Different Fight.

Welcome to The QSR Positioning Wars, the fifth dive of Branded & Buttered. Walk into any high street or mall food court, and you'll find five brands selling almost the same burger, at almost the same price, to almost the same customer. The product isn't the battlefield. The mind is.

This round explores how McDonald's, Burger King, KFC, Domino's, and Wendy's wage wars entirely in perception: value versus premium, speed versus indulgence, family versus youth. We'll dig into positioning maps, the psychology of anchor pricing, why "value meals" exist, how brands reposition after a crisis, and the fine art of attacking a category leader without ever saying their name.

If you can tell your Points of Parity from your Points of Difference, and explain why a ₹99 burger and a ₹199 burger can come from the same fryer oil, this one's for you.
