Opportunity brief
Roles:
Are you an ambitious student passionate about the Internet of Things (IoT) and modern cloud engineering? We are seeking an energetic Azure IoT Developer Intern to join our cloud engineering team.
In this role, you will work on building scalable, resilient, and secure cloud services that power our next generation of connected devices. Guided by experienced mentors, you will contribute directly to production-grade software using modern .NET practices, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and continuous delivery pipelines in Azure DevOps.
Responsibilities:
- Cloud & Device Integration: Design, build, and maintain cloud-side microservices and API endpoints that securely connect, manage, and ingest telemetry data from edge devices using Microsoft Azure.
- Agile Software Development: Write clean, maintainable, and well-structured code in C# and .NET, actively participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and code reviews within an Agile framework.
- Quality & Automated Testing: Practice Test-Driven Development (TDD) to build robust test coverage (unit, integration, and contract tests), ensuring high reliability for critical cloud services.
- CI/CD & DevOps: Leverage Azure DevOps to manage task backlogs, automate build/release pipelines, and support cloud infrastructure deployment.
- Collaboration & Learning: Partner closely with firmware, cybersecurity, and cloud engineers to troubleshoot connectivity issues, optimize payload performance, and implement cloud security best practices.

- Academic Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related technical field.
- Programming Core: Solid foundational knowledge of C# and the .NET framework/ecosystem.
- Cloud & IoT Interest: Basic understanding of Microsoft Azure cloud concepts and enthusiasm for IoT architectures (e.g., Azure IoT Hub, Device Twins, MQTT/AMQP protocols, messaging queues).
- Testing Mindset: Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles or automated testing frameworks (e.g., xUnit, NUnit).
- Methodologies & Tools: Familiarity with Agile/Scrum practices and version control systems (Git / Azure DevOps).Nice-to-Have Skills
- Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Bicep, ARM templates, or Terraform.
- Basic understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes/AKS).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity basics for IoT devices (TLS, device identity certificates, OAuth2).
- Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs or Event-Driven Architectures (Event Hubs, Service Bus).
