About Db2Hack:
- Ready to build something meaningful with AI and enterprise databases?
- Db2Hack 2026 is an online hackathon that challenges participants to develop AI-powered applications using IBM Db2.
- Build a practical AI use case by combining IBM Db2 with modern AI frameworks. Explore Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, vector search, document intelligence, and text-to-SQL applications.
- The hackathon is open to everyone. You do not need prior experience with IBM Db2 to participate.
- The goal is simple: learn, build, and demonstrate a working AI application on an enterprise database.
Challenge Tracks and Technologies
- Participants must use at least ONE of the following supported frameworks:
- LangChain
- LlamaIndex
- Haystack
- CrewAI
- Langflow
- You can combine multiple frameworks if your project requires them.
- Suggested project directions:
- AI-powered RAG applications
- Intelligent AI agents
- Database-powered chatbots
- Semantic search and vector search
- Text-to-SQL applications
- Document intelligence systems
- AI-powered data analytics
- You are encouraged to develop an original and practical use case.
Eligibility Criteria
- Open to students, developers, freshers, working professionals, and AI enthusiasts.
- Participants from any college, university, or organisation are welcome.
- Individual participation only. Team submissions are not permitted.
- Registration is free.
- Prior IBM Db2 experience is not mandatory.
Participation Process
- Follow these four steps:
- Register on Unstop and complete your registration on Luma before 8 November 2026.
- Join the official WhatsApp community. Joining is mandatory for updates, the Google Form, and workshop announcements.
- Install the IBM Db2 Developer Extension for VS Code and set up your free Db2 Community Edition.
- Build your AI application using at least one supported framework.
Submission Guidelines
- Participants must complete BOTH submission requirements:
- Create a Pull Request (PR) in the official GitHub submission repository.
- Submit the PR link through the official Google Form.
- Both submissions must be completed before 5:00 PM IST on 10 November 2026.
- Participants must also share their project use case on LinkedIn and tag the organising team.
- Incomplete submissions or submissions received after the deadline might not qualify for evaluation.

Workshops and Support
- The on-campus IBM Db2 TechX Summit and hands-on workshop at GL Bajaj, Mathura, took place on 30 October 2026.
- Additional online support includes:
- Live online technical workshop.
- Online doubt-solving session.
- Guidance on Db2 setup, AI frameworks, and project submissions.
- Dates for upcoming online sessions will be announced through the WhatsApp community.
