Organized by GE HealthCare, the Precision Care Challenge is a hackathon designed to inspire young innovators, problem solvers, and technology enthusiasts to tackle real-world healthcare challenges. This is more than a competition. It is a chance to work on real industry problems, gain hands-on experience, learn from experts, showcase your creativity, and connect with peers who share your passion for innovation. Throughout the challenge, individuals/teams will progress from ideation to prototype development, transforming bold concepts into impactful solutions that can advance the future of precision healthcare.

Eligibility Criteria:

Open to full-time students currently pursuing Graduation (2nd-4th year) or Post-Graduation in any Engineering discipline.

Team Formation Guidelines:

  • A team will consist of 1-4 members (students), and the one who registers the team will be the team leader.
  • Inter-college and interdisciplinary teams can participate.
  • Only full-time students can participate.
  • All the team members are required to verify and confirm their details to form a team.
  • There is no restriction on the number of individuals/teams from an institute.
  • Modification of team post registration will not be allowed.
  • All team members must be present during the final presentation; otherwise, their entry will be disqualified.

Registration:

Participants register for the challenge and form teams of 1-4. During this phase, individuals/teams review the problem statements, identify opportunities for innovation, and prepare their submissions.

Round 1 - Paper Submission:

Individuals/Teams submit a concept paper presentation (PDF format) outlining:

  • Problem statement
  • Proposed solution
  • Innovation and differentiation
  • Potential impact on healthcare
  • Feasibility and implementation approach

Problem Statement Themes:

  • Cloud-Native AI-Ready Imaging Platform for Early Disease Triage
  • Holistic Optimization System for Policy-Integrated Admission & Treatment Intelligence
  • Detection of Steganographic Malware Hidden in AI Model Weights
  • AI-Driven Prioritization System for Early Alzheimer's Diagnostic Pathways

Participants are required to use the idea submission template shared along with the problem statements to ensure consistency and ease of evaluation. Submissions made in any other format will not be considered. Please make sure to fill in all the required sections of the template before uploading the idea.

Individuals/teams submit a 2-4 slide presentation (as per the shared template) outlining:

  • Proposed solution
  • Innovation and differentiation
  • Potential impact on healthcare
  • Implementation approach

Additionally, participants/team leaders must upload their PAN Card along with the PAN Cards of all their team members.

Submissions are evaluated for relevance, innovation, technical merit, and alignment with Precision Care objectives.

Round 2 - Paper presentation:

All eligible individuals/teams are invited to present their ideas virtually before a panel of jury members demonstrating:

  • Solution concept
  • Business and customer value
  • Technical feasibility
  • Expected outcomes and impact

The jury evaluates and shortlists the most promising submissions for the next phase.

Round 3 - PoC Development:

Selected individuals/teams advance to the Proof of Concept (PoC) phase based on jury evaluations.

Shortlisted individuals/teams build and validate a working prototype or proof of concept. Individuals/Teams leverage mentoring, technical guidance, and stakeholder feedback to strengthen their solutions and demonstrate practical applicability.

Round 4 - Grand Finale:

Finalist individuals/teams will get to present their completed PoCs/proposed solutions to the leadership team at GE HealthCare (JFWTC), Bangalore. Each team will have dedicated time to interact with the Jury members. Winning individuals/teams are recognized during the finale event and celebrated for driving innovation in Precision Care.

Prizes & Rewards:

  • The Winner/Winning team will receive a cash prize of INR 1,50,000 along with a certificate. T&Cs Apply.*
  • The 1st Runner-Up/team will receive a cash prize of INR 1,00,000 along with a certificate. T&Cs Apply.*
  • The 2nd Runner-Up/team will receive a cash prize of INR 75,000 along with a certificate. T&Cs Apply.*
  • All Grand Finalists will receive a Certificate of Participation.
