Opportunity brief
Vidyut Vyuh is India's first competitive power grid crisis response championship, organized by the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) Student Branch, Faculty of Technology, University of Delhi as part of YANTRIKA 1.0: INNOVATE & ELEVATE. Participants take on the role of grid control room engineers — diagnosing hidden faults inside an IEEE 9-bus MATLAB/Simulink grid model, restoring system stability, and defending the network against faults injected live during the competition. The event tests genuine power systems domain expertise, simulation proficiency and engineering decision-making under time pressure, rather than theoretical knowledge alone.
