Overview:
Rachna invites design students, emerging self-taught designers, artists, and young creative minds to reimagine leather accessories for Gen Z. Combine functionality, contemporary aesthetics, cultural influences, and practical manufacturing feasibility.
The Challenge:
- Design a wallet, belt, purse, clutch, or handbag, or develop a small collection of two or more accessories. Explore fresh forms, modularity, material combinations, and Indian craft or identity. Show how your idea evolved, not just the finished design.
Submission Requirements:
- Submit one PDF documenting your Research, Inspiration, Exploration, Rough Sketches, Final Design, and Rendering. Include clear views, dimensions, and relevant design details. Digital or hand-rendered visuals are encouraged wherever possible.
What We're Looking For:
- Demonstrate a clear progression from user and market research to a conceptually strong, practically feasible design.
Rewards and Recognition:
- First prize: ₹15,000 and a certificate.
- Second prize: ₹10,000 and a certificate.
- Third prize: ₹5,000 and a certificate.
- Entries placed fourth through tenth receive an Honorable Mention Certificate.
- Other participants receive a Certificate of Participation.

"The top 10 students will receive a Pre-Placement Interview (PPI) opportunity valued at ₹15,000 each, totaling ₹1,50,000 in additional opportunity value.

What Your PDF Should Include:
- Research: Your target user, their needs, materials, market and existing products.
- Inspiration: References, mood boards, cultural influences, colours, textures and forms that shaped your idea.
- Exploration: Different concepts, structures, features and possibilities you considered.
- Rough Sketches: Thumbnails, early sketches and iterations showing how your thinking developed.
- Final Design: Clear views, dimensions, materials and relevant details explaining how your product works.
- Rendering: Digital or hand-rendered visuals, where possible, showing the final appearance and finishes.
Show a clear progression from research to your final solution. Your design journey matters as much as the finished product.
