HAXFINITY is the 24-hour hackathon conducted as part of EXTHRONE '26, the annual IT fest of the Department of Computer Science, Amal College of Advanced Studies (Autonomous), Nilambur.

For 24 hours, students from different colleges and backgrounds will come together to identify problems, develop solutions, build working prototypes, and present their ideas to a panel of judges.

There is no compulsory theme. Participants are free to choose a problem and develop a solution using any suitable technology.

Whether you are an experienced developer or participating in your first hackathon, HAXFINITY is a space to learn, collaborate, experiment, and build.

TRACKS

OPEN INNOVATION

Build anything that solves a real problem.

You may work in education, healthcare, finance, agriculture, entertainment, productivity, cybersecurity, accessibility, sustainability, or any other domain.

There is no fixed problem statement and no restriction on technology. Choose a problem, design a solution, build a working prototype, and surprise the judges.

AI / ML

Build intelligent systems using machine learning, generative AI, natural language processing, computer vision, recommendation systems, data analysis, or any other AI-related technology.

Projects will be evaluated on technical implementation, originality, usefulness, and real-world applicability.

SOCIAL GOOD

Build technology that improves people's lives.

Possible areas include rural development, accessibility, mental health, financial inclusion, education, healthcare, environmental protection, and community welfare.

Projects in this track will be evaluated on impact, usability, sustainability, and the effectiveness of the proposed solution.

WHAT THE HACKATHON LOOKS LIKE

16 December, 10:30 AM — Opening ceremony and problem-solving begins.

During the day — Teams form, ideas take shape, and development begins.

Throughout the event — Mentoring, technical support, checkpoints, and interaction with fellow participants.

Midnight — The hackathon continues with snacks, discussions, debugging, and late-night building.

17 December, 10:32 AM — Submission deadline and code freeze.

After submission — Teams prepare their final demonstrations.

Final judging — Each team presents its working prototype to the judges.

Closing ceremony — Winners are announced and prizes are distributed.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

HAXFINITY is open to students from all streams and colleges.

Students from computer science, information technology, engineering, science, commerce, management, design, and other disciplines are welcome.

You may participate if you are:

  • A beginner attending your first hackathon.
  • An experienced developer.
  • A designer or creative problem-solver.
  • A student interested in AI, cybersecurity, cloud, robotics, web, mobile, or social-impact technology.
  • Someone with an idea and the willingness to build it.

The only requirement is that you come prepared to learn, collaborate, and create.

TEAM DETAILS

  • Each team must have 2–4 participants.
  • Solo participation is not permitted.
  • Participants from different colleges may form one team.
  • Participants from different academic streams may form one team.
  • Interdisciplinary teams are encouraged.
  • Each participant may be part of only one team.

WHERE IT HAPPENS

The campus is located in the Nilambur region of Kerala, known for its natural surroundings and teak forests.

The college is approximately:

  • 3 km from Nilambur Railway Station.
  • 1 km from the Calicut–Nilambur–Ooty highway.

Travel and accommodation information will be shared with registered participants.

WHAT WE PROVIDE

Cloud credits, software benefits, and additional resources may be announced later if they are officially confirmed.

RULES

  • Teams must contain 2–4 participants.
  • The project must be developed during the official hackathon period.
  • Participants may use open-source libraries, frameworks, APIs, and publicly available datasets.
  • Previously developed projects may not be submitted as new work.
  • Teams must clearly disclose any pre-existing code, templates, datasets, APIs, or third-party services used.
  • Projects must be submitted through Devfolio before the deadline.
  • Late submissions may not be accepted.
  • A working prototype or meaningful demonstration is expected.
  • Teams must be prepared to explain their technology, development process, and contribution.
  • Projects must not violate copyright, privacy, security, or applicable law.
  • All participants must follow the event Code of Conduct.
  • The organisers reserve the right to reject projects that are unsafe, copied, offensive, illegal, or unrelated to the event.
  • The detailed judging criteria and final rules will be published before the event.
