Vivekananda Innovation Hackathon 2026

Innovate • Collaborate • Impact

Delhi Technological University (DTU), in partnership with Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Institute of Values, Gurugram, presents Vivekananda Innovation Hackathon 2026 — a National Level Hackathon that brings together young innovators, problem-solvers, and technology enthusiasts from across India.

Inspired by the vision of Swami Vivekananda, the hackathon aims to encourage students to transform ideas into meaningful solutions and use technology as a force for positive change.

The hackathon provides participants with a platform to innovate, collaborate, learn from mentors, and build solutions for real-world challenges, while developing their technical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

What to Expect?

The competition will be conducted in multiple rounds, progressively evaluating participants on their knowledge, problem-solving ability, innovation, and ability to build impactful technological solutions.

Round 1 — Online Assessment

  • Date: 27 September 2026
  • Registration Deadline: 20 September 2026
  • Mode: Online

The first round will be a 45-minute online MCQ-based assessment consisting of 100 questions.

The assessment will cover two broad areas:

  • Swami Vivekananda & His Life — questions based on his life, teachings, philosophy, contributions, and vision.
  • Technology — Questions related to Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI/ML), Web Development, App Development, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, Programming, and other emerging technologies.

Based on the performance in the online assessment, 40 teams will be shortlisted for the next round.

Round 2 — 24-Hour Offline Hackathon

  • Date: 6–7 October 2026
  • Venue: BR Auditorium, Delhi Technological University, Delhi
  • Mode: Offline

The shortlisted teams will participate in an intensive 24-hour hackathon, where they will work on real-world problem statements and develop innovative technology-driven solutions.

The round will include:

  • Ideation and problem-solving
  • Solution development
  • ‍ Mentorship from experienced mentors
  • ️ Evaluation and judging
  • Team collaboration
  • Presentation of the developed solution

Throughout the 24-hour hackathon, teams will have the opportunity to interact with mentors, refine their ideas, develop their prototypes, and receive guidance to strengthen their solutions.

The finalist teams from Round 2 will advance to Round 3.

Prizes & Recognition

The hackathon features a total prize pool of ₹1,00,000.

Winners and deserving participants will also receive certificates and recognition for their innovation and performance.

Who Can Participate?

The hackathon is open to students from recognized institutions across India.

Team Size

- 3–5 members per team

Students from different academic backgrounds are encouraged to participate and bring diverse perspectives to the problems they solve.
