About the Challenge
Not everything is what it seems. The Digital Detective Challenge is a fast-paced online quiz that tests how sharp you really are at spotting fake news, scams, deepfakes, and misinformation in today's digital world. One challenge, many clues — only the sharpest minds win.
Participants will face 30 questions across 5 themed sections in a single quiz round, covering viral misinformation, online scams, AI-generated content, cyber safety myths, and logical/critical thinking traps.
Eligibility
- Open to all college students (any year, any stream/specialization).
- Participants must have a stable internet connection and access to a laptop/smartphone for the duration of the quiz.
- Individual participation only — inter-college and inter-specialization teams are not applicable, as this is a solo quiz.
Format
- Total Questions: 30 (Multiple Choice Questions)
- Total Round: 1 single quiz round, divided into 5 sections (6 questions per section)
- Viral or Fake? — Spotting fake news and viral claims
- Spot the Scam — Identifying phishing emails, links, and messages
- Real or AI? — Distinguishing AI-generated content from genuine content
- Cyber Safety & Tech Myths — Testing digital safety awareness
- Logic, Puzzles & "Wait... Really?" — Critical thinking and internet logic
- Each question carries equal marks.
- Time per question: 20–30 seconds (as configured on the platform).
- No negative marking (unless otherwise specified at the time of the quiz).
Process
- Register on Unstop before the deadline.
- Participants will receive quiz access details/link closer to the event date.
- The quiz must be attempted in one sitting, within the allotted time window.
- Top scorers on the leaderboard will be declared winners.
- In case of a tie, the participant with the least time taken will be ranked higher.

Rules
- This is an individual competition — no team entries.
- Each participant can attempt the quiz only once.
- Use of external help, browsing for answers, or collaborating with others during the quiz is strictly prohibited and may lead to disqualification.
- Participants must join with their own registered Unstop account/credentials.
- Organizers' decisions regarding scoring, ranking, and disqualification will be final and binding.
- Any technical issues must be reported to the organizing team immediately during the quiz window.
