Guidelines

Eligibility

  • The hackathon is open to Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) students.
  • Students from all engineering branches/specializations are eligible to participate.
  • Participants may register individually or participate as a team.
  • Each team can consist of a maximum of 4 members.
  • Inter-college teams are allowed.
  • Inter-specialization/branch teams are allowed.

Hackathon Format

  • This is a 10-hour offline hackathon.
  • Date: 26 September 2026
  • Time: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Venue: CMR Institute of Technology, Bengaluru
  • Teams will identify a problem and develop an innovative technology-based solution during the hackathon.
  • Participants will be required to demonstrate and present their solution to the judging panel.

Challenge Tracks

Participants can work on a solution under any one of the following tracks:

  • Speech & Audio AI
  • Computer Vision
  • Biomedical Signals
  • AI & Machine Learning
  • Wireless & IoT
  • Sustainable Technologies
  • Open Innovation
  • Embedded Systems

Problem Statements

  • Participants will work on one problem statement/project during the hackathon.
  • The problem statement should align with one of the listed challenge tracks.
  • Teams are expected to develop a practical and innovative solution addressing the selected problem.

Evaluation

Projects will be evaluated by the judging panel based on factors including:

  • Innovation and originality
  • Problem relevance
  • Technical implementation
  • Feasibility
  • Practical impact
  • Quality of the prototype/demo
  • Presentation and explanation of the solution

Rules

  • Each team can have a maximum of 4 participants.
  • Participants from different colleges and different engineering branches/specializations can form a team.
  • Each participant should be registered with the correct details on the Unstop registration form.
  • A participant should be associated with only one team.
  • Teams must work on a solution corresponding to one of the official challenge tracks.
  • The submitted solution should be the original work of the participating team.
  • Plagiarism, unauthorized copying, or misrepresentation of another team's work may result in disqualification.
  • Teams must complete and present their solution within the allotted 10-hour hackathon duration.
  • Teams must be prepared to demonstrate their prototype/solution to the judges.
  • Participants are expected to follow the instructions and code of conduct communicated by the organizing committee.
  • Any form of misconduct or violation of the hackathon guidelines may lead to disqualification.
  • The decision of the judges and organizing committee regarding evaluation, ranking, and winners will be final and binding.
  • The organizing committee reserves the right to make necessary changes to the event schedule, format, or guidelines and communicate them to registered participants.

Prizes

The hackathon features a total prize pool of ₹14,000.
