About the Competition: ExploitX: Into The Void – Season 2 is a national-level cybersecurity Capture The Flag (CTF) competition organized by ExploitX, Chennai Institute of Technology. The competition is designed to test participants' technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and practical cybersecurity skills through real-world-inspired challenges. The event consists of two competitive rounds: Round 1 – Preliminary Round (Online): Date: 18 July 2026 Duration: 12 Hours Mode: Online Teams compete to solve cybersecurity challenges. The highest-scoring teams will qualify for the Grand Finale. Round 2 – Grand Finale (Offline): Dates: 30–31 July 2026 Duration: 24 Hours Venue: Chennai Institute of Technology, Chennai Qualified teams will compete in an intensive onsite Capture The Flag (CTF) competition. Winners will be decided based on the final scoreboard. Eligibility: Open to undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma students from recognized institutions. Participants from any branch or specialization are eligible. Basic knowledge of cybersecurity is recommended but not mandatory. Team Formation: Team Size: 2 members. Inter-college teams are allowed. Inter-specialization teams are allowed. Competition Format: Solve challenges across multiple cybersecurity domains: Web Security Cryptography Forensics Reverse Engineering Binary Exploitation OSINT Miscellaneous Challenges carry different point values. Dynamic scoring may be used depending on participation. Teams must submit valid flags to earn points. Rankings are based on total score and submission time. Rules: Only registered team members are allowed to participate. Sharing flags, solutions, or hints with other teams is strictly prohibited. Any form of plagiarism, collusion, or unfair practices will result in immediate disqualification. Denial-of-Service (DoS/DDoS), attacks against the competition infrastructure, or attempts to disrupt the platform are strictly prohibited. Exploiting unintended vulnerabilities in the competition platform is not allowed unless explicitly permitted. Participants must use only their own accounts during the competition. The organizers' decision regarding scoring, disputes, and disqualifications will be final. Organizers reserve the right to modify the rules if necessary to ensure fair competition. Registration: Registration Fee: ₹200 per team. Registration is confirmed only after successful payment (where applicable). Important Notes: Stable internet connectivity is required for the online round. Qualified finalists must arrange their travel to the offline venue unless otherwise notified. Participants are expected to maintain professional and ethical conduct throughout the competition. Detailed instructions and platform access will be shared with registered teams before the event.
