Opportunity brief

About Betrrr

Betrrr is building a new way for people to discover and experience the best of what their city has to offer, from restaurants and events to entertainment and experiences.

We're an early-stage startup, which means you'll work closely with the founding team and have the opportunity to directly influence how the product looks, feels, and works.

We're looking for a creative UI/UX, Motion & Visual Design Intern who loves experimenting with visuals, cares about the smallest details, and can turn ideas into experiences that people genuinely enjoy using.

Responsibilities

  • Design and improve UI/UX for Betrrr's mobile app, website, and internal products.
  • Create motion graphics, animations, micro-interactions, illustrations, and visual assets for the product and brand.
  • Work on everything from wireframes and prototypes to polished, production-ready designs.
  • Help develop and maintain Betrrr's visual language and design system.
  • Collaborate directly with the founding team to brainstorm, iterate, and bring new ideas to life.
  • Prepare and hand off design assets and specifications to developers.
  • Explore new ways to make Betrrr's product experience more engaging, intuitive, and visually distinctive.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of UI/UX and visual design principles.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing UI/UX, motion, visual design, illustrations, or personal projects.
  • Proficiency in Figma.
  • Familiarity with one or more tools such as After Effects, Rive, Lottie, Blender, Illustrator, or Photoshop.
  • Strong attention to detail with an eye for typography, spacing, composition, and interaction.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and turn ambiguous ideas into actual designs.
  • Good communication skills and willingness to work closely with a small founding team.
  • Most importantly, a genuine passion for design and experimentation.

Who Should Apply?

We're more interested in what you can create than where you studied.

Students, recent graduates, self-taught designers, and candidates with strong personal projects are all welcome to apply. If you've built something you're proud of, show us.

What You'll Get

  • Work directly with the founding team.
  • Work on a real product instead of hypothetical design exercises.
  • Significant ownership over Betrrr's UI, visual identity, and motion language.
  • The opportunity to build strong portfolio pieces from work that actually ships.
  • Exposure to product design and decision-making in an early-stage startup.
  • Certificate and Letter of Recommendation based on performance.
  • Potential opportunity to continue with Betrrr based on performance and mutual fit.
