Opportunity brief

Overview:

Niti Manthan 2.0, the Policy Drafting Competition organised by Republica, invites participants to engage with a pressing urban governance challenge: the safety and management of public spaces in Delhi.

Participants take the role of policy designers tackling the institutional gaps that affect the safety of public parks. Teams must develop practical, implementable recommendations that establish clear accountability, ensure sustainable funding, strengthen coordination between public authorities, and protect citizens' access to public spaces.

Theme: Fixing Accountability for Safety in Delhi's Multi-Agency Public Spaces

Event Description:

  • Team Size: 1–3 members per team
  • Round 1 Submission Deadline: 12th November 2026, via Unstop
  • Round 2 Date: 16th November 2026, 10:30 AM onwards
  • Entry Eligibility: Open to all undergraduate students
  • Venue: Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College (ARSD), University of Delhi

Round 1: Policy Brief Submission

- Teams are required to submit a 500–750 word policy brief addressing the given problem statement. Submissions will be evaluated on the clarity of institutional accountability, integration of infrastructure and policing, and the practicality of the proposed implementation plan.

Final Round: On-Campus Policy Presentation

  • The top 10 teams will qualify for Round 2, where they will present their policy recommendations before a panel of adjudicators. Shortlisted teams will be contacted by the organisers and added to a dedicated WhatsApp group for further updates and instructions.
  • Note: Participants are requested to refer to the official concept note for detailed information regarding the problem statement, submission guidelines, evaluation criteria, and presentation round.
