About the role

All that You Need to Know About Solidworks

If you are someone who loves designing or dreams of innovating an out-of-the-box utility one day, then this is the place for you.

SOLIDWORKS aims to test the design and imaginative capability of the contestant. This is a platform where the participant can show off all their CAD skills. The participant will be required to create a 3D model of a given problem statement in the allotted time.

Guidelines:

  • Time Allocated: 2 hours.
  • Round 2 will be followed by a 10-minute explanation session with judges where the participants will have to explain the approach to the part/assembly modeled and will be judged accordingly.

Participants will be evaluated based on:

  • Number of parts successfully modeled and assembled.
  • Constraining of parts in the assembly.
  • Whether sub-assemblies were used and why.
  • Appropriateness of the constraints used for assembly.
  • Participants must create a Word/PDF file illustrating different views of the assembly, exploded views of the assembly, dimensions, and work history (timeline) and save the files (Sldprt/Sldasm files) with the proper name format for submission.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Participants are supposed to submit the following files:
  • Word/PDF file.
  • SolidWorks file (Sldprt/Sldasm).
  • Files should have the following name format for submission:
  • Qno_Team-name_round (e.g., Q2_alpha_round1.pdf and Q1_alpha_round2.sldprt, where "alpha" is the team name).
  • Participating teams have to mail their files (Word/PDF and SolidWorks files) in a single mail.

Rules:

  • Any misbehavior of a participant during the event/rounds may lead to disqualification.
  • Absent participants will be automatically disqualified.
  • All the rights are reserved with the Event Organizer Committee.
  • In case of any disputes, the final wording will remain with the organizers. The decision of the judges is final.
