Opportunity brief
Aponiix Consulting Private Limited is hiring Workday Advanced Compensation Consultants!
About the role:
You will own the Advanced Compensation workstream on client engagements. Most of our clients already have Core Compensation live and are either adding merit, bonus and stock cycles for the first time or fixing cycles that were configured badly during implementation and have been patched around ever since. In a typical quarter you would design and configure a merit and bonus process for one client, run a health check on another client's compensation setup ahead of their annual cycle, and support cycle execution for a third. You will also contribute to Aponiix accelerators and internal training material when engagement work allows.
Responsibilities of the Candidate:
- Gather requirements from client compensation and HR teams and translate them into Workday Advanced Compensation configuration
- Configure compensation review processes, eligibility rules, plans, grades, guidelines, budgets,
pools and scorecards - Build and test merit, bonus, stock and one-time payment cycles, including award proration, pool allocation and multi-level approval routing - Design compensation review templates, worklets and reports that managers and HR partners can actually use - Diagnose problems in existing configurations and recommend fixes, with a clear view of the trade-offs
- Support clients through live cycles: load data, troubleshoot, adjust in flight, and close out cleanly
- Plan and execute regression testing for Workday bi-annual releases as they touch compensation
- Write configuration workbooks, test scripts and handover documentation
- Coach client administrators so they depend on us less over time, not more
Requirements:
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on Workday experience, with at least two full merit or bonus cycles configured and run in Advanced Compensation
- Solid working knowledge of Core Compensation, business process configuration, security and calculated fields
- Ability to build and troubleshoot Workday reports (advanced and matrix) for compensation use cases
- Comfortable leading requirement sessions with client stakeholders without a senior consultant in the room
- Clear written English; you will produce documentation clients rely on after we leave
- Based in India with reliable connectivity for regular overlap with US and European client hours
Preferred:
- Workday Advanced Compensation certification (current or lapsed)
- Exposure to Core HCM, Absence or Payroll integrations that touch compensation data
- Experience with EIB loads for compensation data and mass award changes
- Time in a post-implementation support or optimisation role, rather than only net-new
deployments - Familiarity with Workday's release process and regression testing
What working here is like:
- Fully remote. No unnecessary layers between you and the client.
- Small team, so your work is visible and your opinions on tooling, methods and hiring are heard.
- Time set aside for building internal accelerators and training content, not only billable delivery.
- Compensation is competitive for the Indian Workday market and will be discussed openly at the
first conversation.
Hiring process:
- 30-minute introductory call with a co-founder
- 60-minute technical conversation on Advanced Compensation configuration and a past cycle you ran
- Short practical exercise: review a described compensation setup and write up what you would
change and why - Final conversation and offer
